Project to Promote Environmental consideration of food
The food we eat is closely associated with various environmental issues,
such as deforestation and overfishing during production, greenhouse gas emissions,
ecosystem impacts of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, overproduction of food, and massive wastes.
「“Sustainable food” refers to food that is produced and consumed with these environmental issues in mind.
SONY believes that these issues are relevant to everyone and that it is important to contribute to solving them.
This is why the company has set “promoting the use of environmentally conscious food ingredients”
as a of its environmental medium-term objective, “Green Management 2025.”
To realize a sustainable society, it is important to think about the connection between food and the environment in our everyday lives.
